Brett Wilkinson Attains Missouri and Texas PE Licenses

SALINA, KANSAS— Brett Wilkinson, PE, CFM, Project Manager in our Salina office, recently became licensed to practice engineering in Missouri and Texas, along with his Kansas license. Kaw Valley Engineering is proud to have Professional Engineers licensed throughout the Midwest who bring different backgrounds to a variety of projects.

Brett has experience in many different aspects of civil engineering including transportation design, bridge design and inspection, floodplain management, and water resources engineering. He earned his Kansas PE license after passing the Civil PE Exam and now uses his license when working on civil site plans, floodplain management, floodplain modeling, and road and bridge design projects. Brett works extensively with Kansas counties on bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects.

Every state has different qualifications to receive a PE license, but one important factor in many states includes the ethics exam. It is important for Professional Engineers to understand and pass the ethics exam, which demonstrates an engineer fully understands what it means to sign, seal and submit engineering documents in that state.

“I am excited for the future,” Brett said. “By getting my license in Missouri and Texas, it continues to expand the possible clients and projects I can work with in the future.”

Brett started working for Kaw Valley Engineering in 2019. He graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Biological Systems Engineering in 2014 and became a licensed Professional Engineer in Kansas in 2018. He attained his PE license in Missouri in 2020 and received his PE license in Texas in 2021. Brett is also a Certified Floodplain Manager.

Brett is a member of the Kansas Society of Professional Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, Kansas Association of Floodplain Managers and the American Society of Floodplain Managers.
