John Pratt Becomes a Licensed Professional Surveyor
SALINA, KANSAS—John Pratt, Survey Party Chief in our Salina office, recently passed the Principles and Practice of Surveying (PS) exam and is now a Licensed Professional Surveyor in Kansas and Missouri.
This comes as John is celebrating his 5-year work anniversary at Kaw Valley Engineering, and we are proud to support his professional career growth.
When he found out he passed the PS exam, John said he was excited and celebrated with his family.
“I was very relieved and excited for the opportunities that it would bring moving forward,” he said.
As our newest Professional Surveyor, John’s licensure in our Salina survey department not only provides more opportunities for John, but also for the Salina office and its clients as well.
“Through me being licensed, the turnaround for projects will be streamlined by having a licensed surveyor that is permanently in the Salina office,” John said.
John started his career in surveying after shadowing a surveyor in high school.
“I enjoyed the aspect of working outside rather than at a desk inside and the history of following in the footsteps of previous surveyors,” he said.
John has been at Kaw Valley Engineering since 2017. In the future, he hopes to expand his professional licensure to surrounding states and further his knowledge of surveying practices.
