Kaw Valley Engineering has an immediate opening for a Engineer-In-Training – Structural.
The successful candidate will have an active role in the following:
- Executes the structural engineering tasks assigned or as otherwise directed under general supervision.
- Performs structural CA tasks assigned by senior engineering staff including submittal review and response to project RFI’s.
- Assisting in the preparation of construction drawings, contract documents, and structural calculations.
- Maintains active awareness of the production schedule for responsible task(s).
- Ability to apply building code provisions and interpret material design standards.
- Writing technical studies and reports.
- Participates in team meetings to discuss project issues, coordination with other disciplines and technical issues as well as attending client meetings and discussions.
- The candidate will have the opportunity to apply their skills on a variety of projects involving commercial, industrial, public improvements, utilities, and residential.

Qualifications
- The successful candidate shall possess a B.S. in Structural or Civil Engineering with structural emphasis from an ABET-accredited degree program.
- Have already passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- The candidate must also be committed to eventually becoming a licensed professional engineer (PE).
- Have 0 to 4 years of relevant experience.
- Possess the ability to problem solve and collaborate on innovative solutions with other staff members in a team setting.
- Experience with AutoCAD Architecture or Revit is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite preferred.
- Ability to learn structural analytical software (e.g., RISA 3D, EnerCalc).
