Kaw Valley Engineering maintains and operates fully equipped soils and materials laboratories capable of performing a wide range of tests to support geotechnical and construction needs. Our AASHTO accredited laboratory in Lenexa operates under the oversight of our professional engineering staff.

Non-Destructive
Testing

Our staff includes American Welding Society certified welding inspectors and ASNT level II technicians.

Our AWS-CWI technicians are available to observe of steel and precast concrete erection, shop fabrication, welders’ certification testing and review of welding procedures associated with your project. Our NDT services include ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle and dye penetrant in-house with radiographic service being coordinated with associated firms.

Special Inspection
Services

We have staff qualified to provide the inspections required by the International Building Code.

Our special inspectors work under the direct supervision of the professional engineers within our materials testing department. Our testing and reporting protocols are tailored to the requirements of each local building official and the needs of the client. Our primary concern is to provide clear communication so that any deviations from the plans are addressed by the appropriate design professional and the project is completed in accordance with the project plans and specifications.

We employ a large staff of engineering technicians with experience in inspecting work on behalf of local government and state transportation agencies.

Our versatile staff is proficient in project administration, project inspection and can perform materials testing functions as well. We are available for assignments in remote locations, including field laboratories which may be stationed on project sites within the Midwest.
