Kaw Valley Engineering Awarded 2021 Award of Merit
Kaw Valley Engineering was recently notified that we were awarded a 2021 To the Stars: Celebrating Kansas Businesses Award of Merit from the Kansas Department of Commerce. We are honored to have been recognized for this award.
The Kansas Department of Commerce recognizes June as Business Appreciation Month, which celebrates businesses across the state for the contributions they make to communities. Last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Commerce was unable to honor June as Business Appreciation Month and developed the business appreciation program, “To the Stars: Celebrating Kansas Businesses.”
The award is a “recognition of your business’ outstanding contributions to the community, the state’s economy and the people of Kansas,” according to the letter our firm received from the Department of Commerce and Governor Laura Kelly.
The letter continues: “Your business has demonstrated the tenacity, determination and creativity needed to persevere regardless of circumstance, particularly as our state continues to recover from the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. These values are at the heart of what it means to be a Kansan. You have been nominated for this recognition because the opportunities you continue to create keep our state and local economies strong and improve the quality of life in our communities. Despite the many challenges over the past two years, our state has remained resilient. Thanks to businesses like yours, we continue to reach to the stars.”
According to the Kansas Department of Commerce’s website, 178 businesses were honored this year as a part of the celebration, including 133 Merit Award winners and 45 Regional Award winners.
This is an enormous, statewide honor for our firm. As we celebrate our 40th anniversary this year, we remember the state in which we started Kaw Valley Engineering: Kansas. We hope to continue growing our relationships with Kansans and Kansas communities for years to come.
