According to the Congressional Joint Economic Committee, a significant opportunity exists to increase female representation in the engineering field, as currently only 14% of working professionals in engineering are women. While civil engineering faces an even lower percentage, we believe that positive change is possible.
With women already being underrepresented in our field, the number of women in leadership roles can be even more limited. However, at Kaw Valley Engineering, we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment. We understand that the current scarcity of women in engineering can potentially deter students from pursuing this rewarding career path. Nevertheless, we see this as an opportunity to provide support and empower more women to join the engineering workforce.
Within our company, we have inspiring women in leadership positions, such as Jennifer Lindsley and Jessica Nixon, PE, who are valued members of our Board of Directors, and Margaret Donoho, PE, who is an accomplished leader in our Bridge Design team.
