Land Surveying Services in Kansas

Kaw Valley Engineering Now Offers UAS Services

Kaw Valley Engineering is excited to now offer UAS (unmanned aerial system) services along with our growing list of advanced survey technology, which allows us to better serve our clients. Our firm strives to provide the most accurate, timely and cost-effective services to our clients. The addition of a UAS, or drone, allows us to increase our capabilities for many projects.

As of 2022, Kaw Valley Engineering offers UAS services using the DJI Matrice 300 RTK commercial drone for land surveying projects. This drone offers up to 55 minutes of flight time, 15 km transmission range and more, which enhances our abilities to collect data and measurements for different types of surveys.

Using a drone improves our survey department’s efficiency; reduces field time for our surveyors; and allows us to provide accurate deliverables for our clients.

There are different potential applications of a UAS, which allows surveyors to use this technology in a versatile way on a variety of projects:

  1. Land surveying: Drones collect accurate data quickly, providing information for things like cadastral and topographic surveys.
  2. Urban planning: Data from a drone can help create 2D and 3D models that integrate with local Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
  3. AEC: In the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry, drones can provide information before, during and after a project in the planning, progress and completion phases.
  4. Natural resource management: Drones can create detailed surveys of natural resources, like maps and models.

We take advantage of the best equipment for specific project needs and deliverables to better serve our clients. By using advanced technology such as unmanned aerial systems, Kaw Valley Engineering can provide accurate, timely and cost-effective data to your project.
